Saint Athanasius Lutheran Church
These words of Jesus show us that the truth of God's Word is of the utmost importance.
+ By His Word He makes us His disciples.
+ By His Word we know the truth of our sin and the forgiveness and salvation that is found only in Christ Jesus.
+ By His Word we are set free from our bondage to sin, death, and the devil, by grace through faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Therefore it is important to know what a Church teaches and believes (doctrine) to be the truth, for only this truth is the solid foundation we need for both this life and the next.
